Frozen delights like ice pops or ice cream bars were unheard of during my childhood years. Sorbet yes but only scraped ice with sugar, artificial flavoring and food coloring to make it look inviting. And a few teaspoons of milk added for a higher price. Very seldom did I get the chance to savor the taste of real ice cream like what is readily available today.
