The hibiscus flower is known as gumamela here in the Philippines. Just like in other countries they come in different shapes and colors - yellow, red, pink, white, orange in varying shades. We see their petals slowly open up as dawn creeps in with the first light of the day. By the time the sun is up they are already beaming with full radiant smiles. Very showy indeed! Sadly though, they start to wither with the setting of the sun. The smile of the day turns into a frown as dusk sets in - the time when each flower slowly closes its petals as it bids goodbye to the sun. How I wish the flowers can last for days like roses do.

oh gumamela
the sun smiles and you smile back
why not with the moon?
